Welcome to La Villita Elementary!

La Villita is a place where every student feels empowered. The diverse population of our school represents cultures, religions, and languages from across the globe. Twenty-four different languages are spoken by the students of La Villita.

La Villita is a high performing campus that demonstrates student growth and received an “A” rating for 2025 from the Texas Education Agency. Our curriculum is challenging and rigorous – meeting the varied needs of all of our students. Our teachers are highly qualified teachers and work with one another and district personnel to grow as educators to meet the varied needs of our students.

The Path to Success

Expert Teachers

100% of La Villita teachers are certified in their core subject area and certified to teach English as a Second Language (ESL). Many of our teachers are also certified to teach Gifted and Talented (GT) students. Teachers in grades K-3 participate in Reading Academies and receive training in the Science of Teaching Reading. Teachers also receive specialized training in curriculum, differentiation, social-emotional learning and much more.

La Villita Elementary Parent Teacher Association

La Villita’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a partnership between parents, educators, and the community who strive to enhance student learning and enrich the lives of the students within the school. PTA has helped with Field Trips, Family Fun Night, Field Day, provided materials for students and staff, and raised funds to purchase the sunshade over the playground. We appreciate our families who provide support to our school.

La Villita is proud to have achieved an “A” rating by the Texas Education Agency in 2025. Students receive special recognition as “Student of the Nine Weeks” for outstanding citizenship in the classroom. Teachers are recognized as “Teacher of the Nine Weeks” and “Teacher of the Year” for their dedication to our school community.

La Villita is a Command Coding Academy. All students participate in coding activities using a curriculum that begins with block coding and progresses to text coding. Students use programs such as code.org, Scratch, LEGO WeDo robotics, BeeBots, and Minecraft. This year, we had a group of students participating in the VEX coding competition. Students participate in the Harmony social-emotional learning program, which focuses on building peer relationships and problem-solving strategies. Many of our teachers have attended Restorative Practices professional development and came back and implemented restorative circles in their classroom. We also offer ELL, gifted and talented, speech therapy, dyslexia, and special education services.
