I am so excited and honored to join the Leopard Family this year! As a former student and graduate of CFBISD, I can’t think of any other district I’d rather be in! My career in CFB began 11 years ago as a chemistry teacher at RL Turner High School, where I was also given the honor of serving as the BioMed Academy Director for three years.  I left the lion’s den to join the bear’s cave as the assistant principal at Blalack Middle School where I have truly enjoyed working these past 3 years. As the first born of immigrant parents, I come from a long line of strong believers in the importance of a solid education and I am ecstatic to work with our K-5 students here at La Villita!  As I journey over to the Leopard Family, I look forward to partnering with students, parents and the community, because it is through this collaboration that EACH student will achieve at high levels.  2022-2023 is going to be another great year to be a La Villita Leopard!

Hello, La Villita families,

My name is Maxine Reed. And I am excited to be part of La Villita’s Administrative Team.

I was a classroom teacher for 16 years, and I have worked in administration for 21 years in Texas.  I have taught 1st, 3rd, 4th ,5th, and middle school grades-6th and 7th.  Currently, I work primarily with Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grades.  I love being on our campus and our staff is wonderful to work with on a daily basis.  I believe that everyone on our campus serves and build relationships with our students; from the custodian and cafeteria manager to the office personnel and the principal.  We are invested in your children well-being and want them to grow physically, emotionally, academically, and socially into the leaders of the future.

La Villita is a Coding Academy, and all our students have their own device to assist in the learning process.  Beginning in kindergarten, the children have coding lessons, and the older students learn to program Lego robotics.  Kinder and 1st grades have iPads, and 2nd -5th have their Chromebook.  In addition, we also have specials classes that our students attend; computer lab, art, music, and physical education.  We have a full-time librarian and nurse.

My husband and I moved to the Dallas area from Colorado Springs, CO, but I am a proud Arkansan, born in the Quachita Mountains on a thriving farm with eleven siblings. I am the blessed and proud mother to three children; Alicia, Derrick and DeAnna.

Again, welcome to La Villita, one of the best schools in the state of Texas!
